My moms birthday is Dec 21 and then Christmas is right after that. I have gotten her a few things like some candles, socks, a picture frame that I’m going to put pictures of my sisters and I in. I don’t have any idea on what else I can get her. She has all the clothes she needs. She lives with her boyfriend and his house is plain white and has no color in it or nothing so I was thinking of getting her something to put in her house, but I don’t know what to get. Her boyfriend just bought a house in Colorado so the house is all hers now until he comes back now and then. Any suggestions on what I could get her??

21 Secrets of Fit People

1. Keep a water bottle with you at all times and drink from it often. Water *is* the drink of choice, but if you don’t enjoy it (I admit it… I don’t), drink Propel, Diet Ice, Reebok Water, Vitamin Water or some other form of healthy fluid intake.
2. Think twice before deciding what to eat and why, making sure that it is healthy and will provide you good nutrition.
3. Measure intake based on activity, not how you “feel.” Need should mandate intake, not mood.
4. Eat well-balanced meals and remember that excessive calories, even if they are fat-free and high protein will turn to excess weight!
5. If your diet is unbalanced, try a daily vitamin and mineral supplements for total health. 6. Limit caffeine and exposure to even second hand smoke.
6. Focus on short-term fitness goals with an emphasis on completing daily exercise.
7. Keep a daily log of what you’re actually eating… this includes grabbing a handful of chips here, the crust of your kids sandwich, and all your snacking.
8. Stick with eating plans you can maintain indefinitely. Remember that no matter how hard you’re working out, if you’re consuming too many calories, you’ll never see the muscles that lie beneath layers of fatty tissue.
9. Enjoy an occasional (once a week) “unhealthy” treat, but never an “unhealthy” week or “unhealthy” vacation.
10. Limit alcohol intake to special occasions.
11. See fitness and health as a privilege, not something to take for granted.
12. Enjoy contributing to the health of others by having a partner or friend to exercise with, as well as recruiting others who desire to feel better and have more energy.
13. Avoid monotony by taking up new forms of exercising or using things that keep you motivated and inspired like new shoes or great music.
14. Work to take your exercise to new levels of intensity.
15. Subscribe to fitness magazines to keep focused on health as an overall way of life.
16. Invest in the right tools, good shoes, a health club membership, a portable MP3 player, fitness equipment, a personal trainer, etc.
17. Don’t compare your body to others. Instead, work to be your personal best.
18. Move beyond the boundaries of weight loss and into total fitness. Measure success by the way your clothes fit, and not a number on a scale.
19. Make it your goal to do some form of exercise 6-7 days a week.
20. Create an exercise schedule the day before, instead of leaving it to chance or waiting to “find” the time. If our last two Presidents of the United States can find the time to work-out 5 days a week, you can find the time too!
21. Get adequate amounts of sleep. Remember that people who exercise regularly fall asleep faster and sleep more soundly.

Why It Really Is All About Birthdays!

Everyday more than 18 million people sing Happy Birthday.

In March 2009 experts estimated that the world population grew to 6.6 billion people and is forecast to continue to escalate, meaning of course, more birthdays.

Every year you share your birthday with more than 19 million people.

It is estimated that you are never more than 10 days from the birthday of a close friend or family member.

All of these facts really do make it clear to us just how much of role birthdays play in all of our lives. Birthdays and their celebrations are times when happy memories are made, the whole family get together and commemorate the day someone they care about was born. When you look back over the years birthdays are landmarks in people’s lives, what you did for your 16th birthday, your 18th birthday or your 21st will never be forgotten and neither will one or two presents that someone got you that you will remember forever.

Even more interesting facts about Birthdays:

More people celebrate their birthdays in August than in any other month (about 8-9% of all people). July and September are close behind!

The most famous rendition of “Happy Birthday” is when Marilyn Monroe sang to “Happy Birthday Mr. President” to JFK at Madison Square Garden in May 1962.

One of the most famous Britains; William Shakespeare – died on his birthday aged 52.

In England, when you reach 80, 90 or 100 years of age, you receive a telegram from the Queen.

Germans take birthdays seriously, sometimes receiving a half-day of vacation. Flowers and wine are common birthday gifts among friends.

Like the Queen, we all try to mark milestone birthdays with special gifts ‘something to keep’ and to show we care. Inthepaper understand that everyone wants to give the gift that will be remembered, that will make them laugh and is completely different to what everyone else got. Inthepaper offer unique gifts that are guaranteed to make them smile.

Because we understand that it is all about Birthdays we have launched a dedicated birthday gifts category on our website. This category celebrates landmark birthdays and helps you find the perfect gift for them. From only £11.99 Inthepaper supply the ideal Birthday Gift that can be delivered to your door tomorrow.

So, I wear contacts and every once in a while my eye just gets irritated. It turns beat red, swells up a tad, burns, and is sensitive to light as well. Are there any home remedies for this? Or do I just deal with it until I can get into a doctor? To make things worse, its my 21st birthday and we plan to go to the bar. An irritated eye in my pictures LOL

A lot of us work hard to promote our online business but one thing we might forget is that we can get a lot of traffic by promoting offline as well.  Following is a list of ideas you can use to promote your online business, offline.

1. Brochures – Brochures are a great marketing tool because you can provide a lot of information about you and your business.  Contact your local Chamber of Commerce and other businesses to see of you can put out your brochures.

2. Newspaper Ads – Run classified ads in some local or not so local newspapers.
Remember these points when writing your ads:
You must get the reader’s attention.
Once you get their attention, you must keep them interested.
Turn their interest in desire for your products.
Give them a call to action!

3. Radio Ads – Check with popular radio stations to see what they charge for a short ad and make the ad pop as much as possible.

4. Promotional Items – Have your url printed on caps, t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. and give them to as many people as you can to wear.  This can be very effective in getting your business known.

5. Postcards – Postcards are very cost effective and versatile. You can announce new items, offer special deals, promote a special business event or announce your website and what types of products/services you offer.

6. Offline Networking – Join your local Chamber of Commerce.  Get involved in business clubs and groups and talk about your business whenever possible.

7. Car Signs – These are great products because they allow you to advertise your business wherever you go – family outings, running errands, visiting family, etc!

8. Business Cards – Design your business card wisely.  They are no longer just for listing your name and address!  Have your business card double as a coupon or gift certificate.  Hand them out whenever the opportunity becomes available.

9.  Flyers – Distributing flyers is a very affordable way to market your online business.  Be sure to specify what service/product you offer and use incentives to get people to ACT NOW.  You can also encourage people to pass the word if your products/services can help anyone they know.  Parades and other public events are great opportunities for handing out your flyers.

10.  TV Ads – TV ads are a bit more expensive but if you have the budget it would definitely be worth looking into.

11.  Coupons – Print out coupons and hand them out wherever and whenever you can.  Offer special deals, sales discounts, etc.   This can lead to many sales and a larger customer base.

12.  Freebies and Samples – People love getting things for free.  Offer small items as free samples.  You have seen grocery stores do this many times.  Give a free sample of a good product and you will get more sales!

13.  Letterheads – Have your business name and url on everything that gets mailed out of your office/home.  You never know who will be reading it and if they might take an interest in your products/services/opportunity.

14.  Catalogs – If possible, have catalogs made and distribute them as much as possible.  Use direct mail as well, if you can.  Offer x amount of dollars off their first order or a free gift with first order.

15.  The Yellow Pages – Get listed in the Yellow Pages so more people can find out who you are and what you offer!

16.  Billboards/Signs – We all notice billboards and signs and they can be very effective in increasing your business.

17.  Job Fairs – If you offer a good business opportunity, make it known by participating in job fairs and career days.

18.  Print Magazines – Purchase advertising or try submitting articles to various print magazines.  Getting an article published can do a lot for your online business.

19.  Greeting Cards – Send personal greeting cards or even thank you notes to all your customers as well as people who expressed an interest in what you offer.   This is guaranteed to make a lasting impression!

20.  Gift Certificates – Print out gift certificates and distribute them as much as possible.  Put them in mailings both personal and business.  Work with other businesses to distribute each other’s certificates (complementary not competing businesses).

21.  Community Involvement – Getting involved in your community events and activities can be one of the most effective ways to get your business noticed.  Volunteer for school activities, work for charities, attend social functions, etc.

One of my best friends birthdays is tomorrow. I’m not sure what to get her. She’s kind of a girlie girl, but she has loads of lotions, perfumes, and picture frames. I need something unique. Its kind of a rule in our group of friends that birthday gifts aren’t uber expensive unless its an important birthday (16th, 18th, 21st etc). My back up is money and a card but i’d rather get her something to show her I was thinking bout her and what she likes. We have different music styles (I like rock and metal and she likes pop and country) so I’m trying to stay away from that cause I really don’t know who she likes to listen to.
