MAC makeover or no?
So my 21st birthday is coming up and I was thinking of getting my makeup done by MAC because I’m gonna go out and take lots of pictures and I want to look pretty(yes yes shallow), and to be honest I’ve never figured out how to make nightime looks work on me,I’m very fair and everything looks so heavy, but I feel my normal makeup look is way too natural for club going. But I’ve never actually worn anything by MAC, and I can’t help but think some of the workers at MAC look like drag queens. I know it costs money to get your makeup done there, so I just thought I’d ask before I blow money on it:
Has anyone had their makeup done there?
-Did you like it?
Would you reccommend going to MAC for getting special event makeup?
-If not where would you reccommend?
Is my fair skin going to screw me over?
This is a pic of me, and thats about as heavy as my makeup ever gets:

You’re really pretty! I think you would benefit from a make-up consultation, but I’ve never tried MAC in particular. Go with a company which fits your personal style. If you think that MAC is too gaudy and blatant, then find something else. You don’t even need to find a makeup line, because anyone in a good salon who does bridal or special events makeup can do this for you.
Yes you can get a good evening look even with your fair skin. I know because as a strawberry blonde I’m even fairer than you. You have to keep away from heavy black colors, and lighten up with bronze, grey, blue or other medium-depth colors. Try a brown mascara and a type that doesn’t glue your lashes together. Lipsticks should be a gloss instead of a full coverage color.

You just need to tell the artist what you want. It’s their job to make you look good and to give you what you want. They will know how to work with your skin colour, hair colour, face shape, etc.
MAC has good cosmetics.

MAC is my fave, better than any Chanel, Lancome, estee or whatever. has the best resistance.

my friend got her make up done by MAC for homecoming. she has fair skin with dark hair…and barely wears makeup. when i saw her with her makeup done by MAC…i thought it was a total disaster. they put really heavy blue eyeshadow on her which didnt compliment her hazel eyes. It looked like as if i could have brushed on some blue eyeshadow for her and it would have looked like a MAC make up worker did it. thats all they really did for her…just blue eyeshadow. I dont know if this will help, but the eyeshadows there look really nice and goes on really nice too, you just have to pick the right colors and know how to apply it. i also have fair skin with brown eyes, and i use their deep plum or brown eyeshadow. i brush on the corners of my eyes half way to the middle, then i use a light bronze eyeshadow to fill in the other half. i work my way up with a highlighter eyeshadow just below my brows and that should make your eye pop out. put on some eyeliner and maybe go for false eyelashes and put mascara. i hope this helps. maybe my friend just got a bad worker, but im just sharing what i’ve seen.

I had my make-up done at Mac for my prom last year. I like it alot there, it’s true that they put LOTS of make-up on themselves but you can tell them totake it easy and not go too heavy. I liked my make-up but I’m used to somewhat heavy make-up, and it was prom so I wanted to stand out but like i said, it’s not always like that. I was a bit tanned so maybe my situation was different, but they have foundations and eye-shadows of every possible color, so I’m sure they’ll find something that suits you.

I got my make up done there. I loved it! They can teach you what looks best on you, as well as how to apply it. If you do decide to get your make-up there, feel free to ask as many questions as you want, its your skin! When I went it was free. Anyways, Mac is the best, whether you want to look natural, MAC was made for special events, & all the celebs wear mac anyways. They wont screw you over, just tell them what you want!
